About

Oceans Initiative is a team of scientists on a mission to protect marine life, including whales, dolphins, sharks, salmon & seabirds, in Canada and beyond. Like the whales we study, we are highly migratory. We spend half our time getting our feet wet in the field, wherever our work is needed, but the other half is spent using our science to inform smart decisions to conserve wildlife. Your frequent flyer points make a difference! Our partnership with the Aeroplan member donation program helps us to shuffle observers and scientists between the sea and the office, and has allowed us to move the whale-sized piles of field equipment we use to explore and protect the British Columbia coast. www.oceansinitiative.org

  • Life below water

Oceans Initiative is a team of scientists on a mission to protect marine life in the Pacific Northwest and beyond, and to share their cutting edge science to guide conservation action. We imagine a world with healthy, thriving, and sustainable populations of all marine life.
