The Stephen Lewis Foundations's Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign received a prestigious Geneva Forum for Health Award (2018) – recognizing the critical role of African grandmothers in turning the tide of AIDS. The awards recognize and honour "global health leaders who have made fundamental improvements in delivering high-quality, sustainable, patient-centred healthcare. Particular emphasis is placed on proven, disruptive innovations that have the potential to become global best practice.”
"Global health leaders" like African Grandmothers and their grassroots, community-level organizations.
Women's testimonies, evidence and insight gathered at the African Grandmothers Tribunal is forever woven into the fabric of the SLF, and into the growing, international Grandmothers Movement. As the groundswell of African grandmothers claiming their human rights expands, we acknowledge the role gatherings like the Tribunal have for sharing knowledge, fortifying networks and turning the tide of AIDS.
The Tribunal, like all of our international gatherings, was made possible with your donated Aeroplan Miles. Thank you.
