Klemtu, BC - making a difference for this Island community

Our team travelled to the remote island community of the Kitasoo First Nation in Klemtu, BC, a place where access to even the most basic veterinary care has long been out of reach. The community reached out to us because they wanted to do the very best for their pets, but financial ability and geography made spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and even rehoming animals incredibly challenging (impossible for most).

The leadership in Klemtu is deeply committed to creating a safe, healthy environment for both animals and people. Partnering with them allowed us to support that vision by helping reduce animal population growth and promoting long-term animal welfare.

During our visit, our team was able to spay or neuter nearly every dog and cat on the island. We also began building an ongoing relationship with community leaders to support humane education and ensure that animal care continues to grow from within.

Work like this is what fuels us. Seeing a community that cares so deeply, and being able to help them make meaningful change is why we do what we do.

None of it would be possible without Aeroplan point donations. Those donated points are what help our teams reach remote communities like Klemtu, where the need is great and the impact is lasting.

If you’re able, donating your Aeroplan points helps us reach more communities, more animals, and more people who want to make a difference. Your generosity truly moves us, literally and figuratively.
