Dr. Marker and Yashphe just came back from the CITES 74th Standing Committee meeting in Lyon, France. Cheetahs were a hot topic on the Committee’s agenda. In a unique move, a specialized informal working group was formed to discuss the illegal trade in cheetahs. Bringing together experts from Interpol and CITES as well as range and destination countries, the working group will discuss ways to work together to curb the trade. CCF was chosen to chair the first meeting and will continue to lead discussions. #illegalwildlifetrade#conservation
