CBJ’s Ballet 101 program is going Online!
Canada’s Ballet Jörgen would like to introduce you to our newest online offering: Ballet 101 DELVING DEEPER.

Covid-19 has obviously impacted our ability to bring the Ballet 101 program to schools, libraries, seniors’ centres and community centres across Canada. Continuing with our commitment to bring ballet education to all communities, even during a pandemic, we have created a new way for you to explore our Ballet 101 program. DELVING DEEPER allows us, as dancers, to share our knowledge and experience of all things ballet, behind the scenes and on the stage, with you.

Our travelling in-person Ballet 101 program is designed especially for children and youth and introduces the audience to ballet through a combination of performance and participation. The program provides opportunities to see a high-quality professional dance presentation while learning about ballet as a storytelling medium. The interactive component teaches basic ballet positions and allows participants to discover their own ability to convey emotions through movement.

Ballet 101 serves as an introduction to the performing arts while also educating the public about the evolution of ballet dance.

This program is graciously sponsored by The Ontario Trillium Foundation allowing us to provide this program free of charge.

“I am truly delighted to see that the Ontario Trillium Foundation funding in support of Ballet Jörgen is ensuring that their Ballet 101 program is reaching as far as northwestern Ontario. Youth in our communities will benefit from this outreach and experience, encouraging them to take a greater interest in the arts. Thanks to Ballet Jörgen for this opportunity”.
